WOW! What a w-e-d-d-i-n-g! Have you ever been to a wedding where the couple had three different outfits? Bridget and Andreas’ wedding in the Harz at the Hotel Freigeist in Northeim, Germany was one multicultural event with a traditional Chinese outfit, a Harz outfit and a fashionable wedding outfit. Every outfit was dedicated to a certain ceremony during the day. The wedding started with the tea ceremony, an important event in a Chinese wedding. Traditionally, the bride will be formally introduced at the ceremony to the groom’s family. Above all, it’s a way for newlyweds to show respect and appreciation to their parents. The afternoon party continued with a music performance of the Harzer Hüttenmusikanten and the log-sawing, a German wedding tradition. The couple has to saw a log in half by working together with one saw. This symbolizes that by working together, they can accomplish difficult tasks and is to serve as a reminder when the couple faces challenges in the future. We were blessed with sun rays and flower fields for the portrait shoot. In the evening, family and friends from Germany, New York, Hong Kong, London.. spent the evening eating great food and dancing. Andreas and Bridget, it was absolutely awesome sharing this day with you! Thank you!
Love from Cape Town,
